There is no doubt that a Ford enthusiast is loyal to the bone and they undoubtedly pass that loyalty onto the generations after them. High-quality vehicles coupled with Ford’s commitment to consumer satisfaction has built the brand into what it is today, but Ford has started to market to the youngest generation of them all. With the Power Wheels F-150, Ford is definitely starting the loyalty off at a young age!
While not available to consumers, the Power Wheels F-150 was spotted coming back from a series of tests in Ford’s main base for operations, Dearborn, Michigan. While the concept is pretty cool, it is not for sure whether or not this is a real thing. Could it really be a collaboration between Ford and Power Wheels? Or maybe it’s just a couple of engineers having a good time at the expense of the spy photographers who took the images. Regardless, we think it’s pretty cool and would love to see something like this hit the market in the future!
Would you like to own something like this Power Wheels F-150 for your child? At Shults Ford of Harmarville, we want to hear what you think! Sound off in the comments below!
Recently, the Bierker family was presented a Warrior Quilt by Paul Letso, one of our very own Shults Ford of Harmarville employees. Rachele Beirker entered to win the quilt for the Mother’s Day Race for the Cure and they are definitely excited to be able to display this Warrior Quilt in their home and know that people are everywhere are fighting for a cure for breast cancer..
So what exactly is a Warrior Quilt?
The Neighborhood Ford Store has partnered with the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure for the Annual Warrior Quilt Project. Warrior Quilts are made of fabric squares that are decorated at a Neighborhood Ford Store booth at the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure. The squares are filled with messages of hope and encouragement; they honor breast cancer survivors, as well as remembering loved ones who have passed. These quilts remind us all how many people breast cancer affects, but they also show us that we are doing everything we can to defeat it.
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, there are several quilts donated to across the United States, to hospitals, clinics, and breast cancer treatment centers.
We were so proud to be able to present a Warrior Quilt to Rachele Bierker and her family and if you would like to find out more about how you can help in the fight against breast cancer, visit the Neighborhood Ford Store booth and the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure!

Philanthropic organizations throughout the country provide amazing services to many different groups of people. One particular philanthropic organization, located in New York City, is known as God’s Love We Deliver. They provide delicious and nutritious meals for those individuals that are too sick to either shop for food or cook for themselves. With their team of dietitians, they are able to tailor each meal to the medical needs of each client.
Now where does Ford come in? Well, to get around the city, God’s Love We Deliver uses a fleet of Ford Econoline vans and a Ford Transit Connect Mobile Food Pantry. With over 5,000 meals to deliver each weekday, the Ford fleet and commercial vehicles come in handy.
“We’re the end of the road, the final safety net for our clients. Without us they would not have food, and without organizations like Ford, we couldn’t do what we do,” said David Ludwigson, the chief development officer of God’s Love We Deliver.
We think philanthropic organizations such as this one are doing amazing things in the communities around the United States. If you are looking to set up your own organization such as this, come to Shults Ford of Harmarville to see what fleet and commercial vehicles we have in stock to help you get started!
After 8 years at the head of Ford, Alan Mulally announced his retirement and the official date is set for July 1st of this year. At Shults Ford of Harmarville, we were saddened by this news because Mulally has been a great CEO for the company over his 8 years at the helm and has even been called a “hall-of-fame CEO” by Bill Ford, Henry Ford’s great-grandson. Our spirits were lifted however, when the new CEO was announced. Mark Fields, Ford’s current Chief Operating Officer will be stepping up and filling Mulally’s shoes come July!
Fields has been with The Blue Oval for the past 25 years and has been training for this position for several of those 25. Mulally could not be more confident in handing the reigns over to Fields and claims that he has “nothing left to teach or talk to Mark about.”
While we are still not sure who will be replacing Fields as the Chief Operating Officer, we can say with confidence that we know Ford will appoint someone with the same dedication to the company as both Fields and Mulally have exhibited throughout the years.
We wish all the best to Alan Mulally and we thank him for everything he has done for Ford. We also want to wish the best of luck to Mark Fields and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for the future of Ford!
If you are an avid fan of drag racing, whether it’s watching or participating, then you probably already know what the Line Lock burnout feature on the new Ford Mustang will entail. For those of you that don’t, here is a little overview.
Line Lock is a system that can electronically lock the front brakes, so when you step on the gas, you can produce big, smoky burnouts that will give off the smell of burning rubber like no other. This all happens without the Mustang moving as much as an inch. The Line Lock burnout feature really isn’t that uncommon and can be seen in drag racing, like stated above, but now Ford is moving towards making it a more common feature on the everyday road.
If you have been saving every extra penny you can for the new Ford Mustang, you should probably start saving more. All that extra rubber-burning you plan on doing will wear down your tires at a much faster rate than normal. Luckily, at Shults Ford of Harmarville, we can help you out with all of you tire and other service needs!

The Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon, has finally made his decision on which truck is the perfect choice for him. After a few weeks of researching, getting help from each angle, and wading through the many tweets from both fans of Fallon and automotive competitors, Jimmy has finally chosen the Ford F-150 King Ranch as the perfect pickup for him!
True to form, Fallon does not plan on flat out buying the new truck and instead, he plans to make it interesting. He has launched a dealership contest and has put 10 dealer representatives to the test. Named “Fingers on a 4×4”, each dealer rep must keep at least one hand on the truck. The last dealer standing will win the contest and get the sale from Jimmy! Fallon has made sure we can all enjoy the contest that is currently going on by providing a live stream of the dealers surrounding the truck.
We definitely wish we would have been chosen to play a part in this contest and get Jimmy his new truck, but we are also extremely happy that he has chosen such a great truck. Want to own a Ford F-150 King Ranch and match Jimmy Fallon? Visit us at Shults Ford of Harmarville because we would love to help you out!
We have had it told to us time and time again; never drink and drive. Whether it’s through a public service announcement, our parents, or we actually know someone that has been involved in an accident with a drunk driver, it’s something that every individual in America has heard multiple times throughout their lifetime. Ford has recently developed a suit that will simulate exactly what it feels like to be drunk and behind the wheel of a car, to hopefully really drive the message home that it’s in no way shape or form safe to get behind the wheel while intoxicated.
The suit is part of Ford’s Driving Skills for Life program, a program designed to give a free education to young people on things they wouldn’t normally learn in a traditional driving class. Each driver gets to put on goggles that impair their vision, headphones to make it harder to hear, and different sets of weights to throw them off balance. They are then put behind the wheel of a car with an instructor on a closed course and they get to discover what it actually feels like to drive drunk, and since they are completely aware of everything going on around them, the idea is to drive home the message of how unsafe getting behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated really is.
Check out the video below to learn more about the Ford simple suit and in the meantime, at Shults Ford of Harmarville, we ask that you always drink responsibly. It is never embarrassing to call for a ride or get a taxi when you have had too much to drink. It could save a life.
At Shults Ford of Harmarville, we are all about great finds when it comes to cool cars, but this most recent find is not only amazing, it’s rare. This discovery is none other than an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500, but that’s not even the best part. It only has 8,531 miles on it!
A man named Larry Brown, who recently passed away, owned the Shelby GT500, and since he had no wife or children to pass his things on to, the car will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The Mustang is still in pristine condition, having never been driven in the rain, as well as having garbage bags covering the seats and double floor mats covering the carpet. These precautions have helped to keep the car in amazing condition, especially considering it has been sitting in a barn for a number of years.
Mechanics say the 1969 Shelby GT500 is in great shape and with a new battery and a freshly filled gas tank, the 45 year old car started right up. According to Auto Trader Classics, a 1969 GT500 with over 75,000 miles on it goes for just under $90,000, but since Brown’s car has 8,531 miles, we are sure it will go for much more than that.
Interested in the auction? It will be held on April 25, 2014 at 12:30 PM EST. Check back for more details that are to come!
Some say Ford is taking a big risk with its introduction of the aluminum alloy body, others think it’s a genius idea to make America’s favorite truck 700 pounds lighter. Regardless of your opinion, Ford has recently stated that the production of the newest Ford F-150 will probably take a toll on profits for the short term.
To prepare for the newest edition to the F-series family, Ford is shutting down its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan for 11 weeks and the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri for 2 weeks. In these 13 weeks, no Ford F-150’s will be produced, more than likely causing profits on the #1 truck to dip.
Ford isn’t expecting to have another record-setting year like they did in 2013 due to closing down those plants for over two months, but rest assured, there will be plenty of Ford F-150’s in supply during the retooling process. With the F-150 being 31% of the 2013 Ford sales in the United States, they will work to make sure those trucks are still available while they prepare for the new 2015 Ford F-150.
We know that the idea of closing a couple of manufacturing plants for a couple of months can be a little nerve wracking when it comes to truck enthusiasts, but at Shults Ford of Harmarville, we will be sure to keep our Ford F-150’s in stock to keep up with the high demand of America’s favorite pickup!
