Ford CarPlay Partnership Offers One of Many OS Options for Consumers

Ford has recently announced a partnership with Apple that will integrate the fruit monikered company’s CarPlay system into Ford’s new Sync 3 interface coming to the US market by the end of 2015.

So what’s so great about CarPlay? Essentially, it takes all of the information on your iPhone – direction apps, the ability to send orreceive messages, and your music – then puts it onto the built-in dash display providing a safer way to utilize your phone while driving.

However, don’t expect to get pigeonholed by the blue oval!

In an ever-diplomatic move, the Ford CarPlay partnership does not negate other OS options available to consumers. “We want to make sure you are not pushed into a decision on a $40,000 car based on your $200 smartphone,” said Ford CTO Raj Nair.

So rest assured, if you want to use Google Maps for navigation while listening to Sirius radio via Ford’s SYNC in-car infotainment system – you can!

Whether you are an Apple junkie or devout Android fan, our Sync interface will cater to your preferences! Be sure to come visit us at Shults Ford of Harmarville to see the newest lineup of Fords.
