Ford Celebrates Students with New Blue Oval STEM Scholarship Program
Having a well-balanced education, including arts, physical education, literature, math, and science, is crucial to a child’s success in his or her education. However, a strong background in the STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and math—is what enable our country to compete in an increasingly global market.
Ford has long supported education, and just celebrated the 30th anniversary of its High School Science and Technology Program (HSSTP). At the celebration event, Ford announced a new Blue Oval STEM Scholarship Program.
“This new scholarship demonstrates our continued commitment to STEM education by investing in talented students who represent the future of the automotive industry,” said Felicia Fields, group vice president, Ford Human Resources and Corporate Services, in a statement. “For 30 years, long before anyone even talked about STEM fields, Ford was a leading force in promoting science, math and technology. This scholarship takes our commitment to these disciplines even further.”
This scholarship will benefit 50 students who are pursuing STEM degrees and is renewable in the amount of $2,500 for four years. Ford invited select students who had participated in the automaker’s educational program to apply for this scholarship.
Here at Shults Ford of Harmarville, we are proud to see Ford continue to support our next generation of leaders.
