Ford has broken a huge record overseas – selling one million cars in China in just one year, which is particularly impressive, considering the fact that the year isn’t even over yet. The announcement was made based on November sales, which were some of Ford’s highest of all time.
This comes in the midst of a spectacular 2014 for the automotive industry, where many big names have seen huge increases, particularly in November, thanks to Black Friday deals. Many are citing the upward swing of the U.S. economy as a factor for the industry sales increases.
According to Ford, the sales from January through all of November were 1,007,425 units, which is a 20 percent increase from the same period of time in 2013.
“Crossing the million vehicle mark is a significant milestone for Ford in China, and it demonstrates the appeal of our portfolio of high-quality, safe, fuel-efficient and smart vehicles,” said John Lawler, CEO of Ford Motor China.
