The 2014 Ford Fiesta is a tiny and affordable hatchback that is also fun to drive. Its design allows the extra small car to have exceptional handling, space and mileage. New midsized cars on the market now have hefty price tags, but the dainty Fiesta rings in at a refreshing $14,100. This makes it the perfect first car for a new driver, a student, or a frugal couple just starting out.
Combined with a five-speed manual transmission and a superb EPA fuel economy of 32 city mpg and 45 highway mpg, the Fiesta is desirable from all angles. “The dashboard and center stack are thoroughly Ford, with many buttons for electronic functions” says newstimes.com in a rave review. The inside is nice and cozy while still allowing for 25 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats down. For a subcompact, that is a lot of extra space, especially for ounce-sized price. Because of its small size the Fiesta is a breeze to park in tight spaces and zip around town.

When it comes to maximum towing capacity, no truck even comes close to the 2015 Ford F-450 Super Duty Class 3 pickup. The F-450 boasts best-in-class towing capabilities of 31,200 pounds, using the Society of Automotive Engineers J2807 standards.
Over the past couple of years, most automakers have adopted SAE J2807 standards, meaning it is easier to compare truck capabilities side-by-side. And, with this standard in place, the F-450’s towing capability is still 2,200 pounds greater than its closest competitor.
“We leave no doubt with customers that the F-450 pickup truck has best-in-class towing of 31,200 pounds—whether tested using our own internal towing standards or SAE J2807,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development, in a statement.
In addition to its rugged capabilities, the 2015 F-450 has a more capable suspension and new 19.5-inch wheels.
Giving the F-450 its strength is a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel that provides the ideal combination of power, torque, and efficiency. It delivers best-in-class 440 horsepower and 860 lb-ft of torque.

When it launched in 2004, the Ford GT was an exceptional car. By most standards, it remains exceptional to this day, but its age is starting to show when compared to more modern supercars.
Until Galpin Auto Sports got its hand on it. Last year, the shop unveiled the GTR1 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, a Ford GT-based supercar that took everything you loved about the original and made it even better—except maybe for the paint.
Under the hood, it had a 5.4-liter V8 hooked to a twin-turbocharger that produced a total 1024 horsepower and 739 pound-feet of torque. But before you say “wow,” check out what Galpin has revealed this year. No more twin turbocharger. Smaller engine. Instead, it’s got a 4.0-liter V8 with a Whipple supercharger to make 1058 hp and 992 lb-ft.
Yes, it goes from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds; yes, it goes faster than 225 miles per hour; no, it has no stability control; and no, it has no traction control. Amazing, right? It’s a pure supercar, bred and true. We just wish we could display it at Shults Ford. We doubt the $1,000,000+ price tag will stop customers from stopping by just to look at it!
This year, the Jackie Robinson West baseball team made little league history. The team of young players grabbed our attention as the first Chicago team to reach the Little League World series in 30 years. Although they took home the second place trophy from the series this year, they were proudly named U.S. Little League Champs and continue to spread their love for the game around the country.
In order to honor their hard work, Ford Motor Company will be donating $10,000 a year towards a four-year Jackie Robinson Foundation college scholarship that will be awarded to a member of the Jackie Robinson West Little League team beginning in the summer of 2015.
“Ford Motor Company Fund salutes the tremendous impact these youngsters and the Jackie Robinson West league have had on Chicago and across the nation,” explains group vice president of Government and Community Relations at Ford Motor Company, Ziad Ojakli. “Supporting education has been a cornerstone of Ford since the company was founded more than 100 years ago. We’re proud to build on that legacy and our long manufacturing presence in Chicago by assisting a student who best exemplifies the ideals Jackie Robinson represented.”

While temperatures are rising, so are Ford sales. Ford Motor Company reported that vehicle sales in the U.S. this July were up 10 percent over last year, selling 212,236 vehicles. This is this best July Ford has had in eight years. Retails sales also increased last month 7% to reach 162,028 vehicles total.
Ford attributes July’s big success to many popular vehicles including the Fusion that set an all-time monthly sales record. The Fusion recorded a 17 percent increase in July with 23,942 total cars sold. Explorer sales saw a great jump of 32 perfect which is the best July sales month for the SUV since 2005. Also setting a record was the Ford Escape as sales were up 19 percent and setting an all-time performance record for July.
“July proved to be a very good month for Ford and Lincoln with positive gains across the board in all major segments,” Explains Ford Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service, John Felice. “Escape and Fusion were big contributors to our sales increases, with both setting July sales records.”
Shults Ford of Wexford is excited to be a part of this fantastic sales record, selling a great deal of popular models every day. Swing by the Wexford, PA dealership and take a ride in the Escape, Fusion, Explorer, and more today!
The highly-anticipated 2015 Ford F-150 has just had its pricing announced and will begin going on sale later this year. Despite a new, weight-saving aluminum body, the 2015 F-150 will only add a small amount to the pickup’s total cost.
The XL and XLT entry level models start at $26,615 and $31,890, respectively, which is only a $395 increase over the heavier, current-gen 2014 truck. Even the upgrade to a Lariat model is negligibly more expensive—it starts at $39,880, which is only $895 more than last year.
As expected, however, the top-end models do cost a little extra compared to the 2014 truck. The leather-rich King Ranch will cost $49,460, up $3,515, and the Platinum trim will cost $52,155, up $3,055.
That being said, there’s more than just 700 pounds of weight-saving to justify the cost increases. All standard equipment has been heightened across all models. Given that the entry-level XL and XLT account for about 70 percent of all F-150 sales and have less than a $400 increase, that’s not a bad deal at all.

In Alan Mulally’s eight years with the Ford Motor Company, he led Ford out of recession and back into success before his retirement. As a way to say thank you, Ford has now created a scholarship in his honor.
The Mulally scholarship will be formally named the Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship and both Ford and its philanthropic arm will contribute a total of $1 million. The money will be awarded to engineering students, in their sophomore or junior years, who plan on becoming automotive engineers.
“Alan’s engineering background and data-driven decision-making paved the way for the extraordinary leadership he provided at Ford,” Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford said in a statement. “We are honoring his legacy by providing scholarships to students who demonstrate the strong engineering ability that is required to develop into the next generation of leaders for our industry.”
Each year, a one-time $10,000 scholarship will be given out to 10 promising engineering students at universities all over the world. It will be a part of the Ford Blue Oval Scholars program and information on how to apply will be available there in the coming months.
Here at Shults Ford of Harmarville, we want to congratulate Mr. Mulally on this great honor and hope he is enjoying his time in retirement.
In a Polk study evaluating which vehicles 19.3 million U.S. military families own, three Ford models stood out among the top 10. We at Shults Ford of Harmarville couldn’t be more proud to have so many Ford models owned by households with an active, veteran, or retired member of the military.
The always-popular Ford F-150 topped the list of best-selling vehicles among military families. The Ford Escape was the highest ranking utility vehicle on the list, sitting at the number three spot. The Ford Focus sedan placed number nine on the list, rounding out the automaker’s diverse list of vehicles driven by American military families.
Seeing Ford models throughout the top 10 list is a humbling reality. It means the men and women who are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom are willing to trust us with their lives and the lives of their families. That is a responsibility we don’t take lightly, and we know the folks at Ford Motor Company don’t either. Over 5,900 employees are either actively serving or have previously served in the military.
“Military families, in particular, desire the efficiency, capability and smart technology Ford vehicles offer,” said Jim Farley, Ford’s executive vice president of Global Marketing, Sales, Service.
“Ford has a long history of supporting active-duty military personnel and veterans, and it is an honor American military families buy Ford more than any other brand.”
The wait is over and the 2015 Ford Focus ST will finally be revealed to the public. Where, you ask? This big reveal will be taking place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend in the UK. There are many options for hatchbacks in Europe but not so many that run on diesel, which will now be an option for the 2015 Ford Focus ST.
This Ford Focus will be packing a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four generating 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque with a top speed reaching 135 miles per hour (which is less than the gasoline Focus, but who needs to go that fast anyways!).
The big difference between the diesel Focus and gasoline Focus are the amount of emissions that are put out and the fuel economy. This is a double win for the diesel because it puts out a third of the emissions and gets 50 percent better fuel economy.
The Ford Focus diesel will have all of the new features that the 2015 Ford Focus ST will have including: recalibrated suspension, updated front-end and rear-end styling, and upgraded impressive interior equipment. This is a hatchback that it worth considering!

We all know the automotive manufacturer has been opening new showrooms at a pretty high rate, but when we heard that Ford opened 88 new dealerships in one day, we were astounded! On June 19th, Ford opened the doors on 88 new showrooms in China, bringing up the grand total of Ford dealerships in China to 750 total dealerships. There is no concern of overwhelming the Chinese population with Ford dealerships either. The Blue Oval actually plans to open up another 50 in China by the end of this year. Since the population is so huge, it is actually quite surprising that there are only 750 Ford dealerships in China currently.
Over 75% of these new dealerships are located in so-called Tier 4 cities, also known as smaller towns that millions of people still live in. Ford’s strategy is to avoid the bigger areas that are already saturated with competition, and start to build their own market in the smaller, yet still profitable, areas.
“With the growth momentum we have going right now, we expect to exceed 800 dealer points in China by the end of 2014,” said Marin Burela, the CEO and president of Changan Ford.
Everyone here at Shults Ford of Harmarville is excited to see the growth and progress of this amazing automotive manufacturer and we look forward to a continued great future with Ford!
