2018 Ford Expedition Prototype

Not much is known about the 2018 Ford Expedition, but its prototype has been spied out on the road. What is certain so far is that it’s sure to bring exciting change.

The new Ford Expedition was camouflaged when it went out for a stroll in Detroit, but some updates could still be seen. The 2018 Expedition is modeled after the all-new F-150. It has a similar aluminum-intensive body structure, which makes the Expedition tougher than ever.

While it’ll be plenty tough, the innovative aluminum structure actually makes the Expedition more lightweight. This helps conserve fuel economy, making it even easier to navigate on the road.

The EcoBoost V6 engine is another addition to this car. There’s also a smaller engine option available for those who want to save even more on gas.

So what about technology? The 2018 Expedition has that, too. While it couldn’t be seen from the outside of the camouflaged car, the inside has Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system. That means every driver will have access to their favorite entertainment and plenty of technology updates.

It will be a bit until you see the 2018 Ford Expedition, but it’ll be worth it when you get behind the wheel with all of these exciting changes.

The 2015 Ford F-150 Becomes First Light-Weight Pickup to Offer Snow Plow Prep Option

These winter months seem to be stretching on forever and we are sure you have probably wished for a better way to clear your driveway and the roads of snow other than with a shovel or waiting for the city to clear it for you.  Well Ford heard everyone’s cries regarding the winter blues, and they answered with an ingenious option added to the front of the 2015 Ford F-150: the snow plow prep option.

Eric Peterson, the Ford F-150 marketing manager, stated “the new 2015 F-150 is the toughest F-150 ever, and by using more high-strength steel in its frame and advanced materials in the body, we’ve made the new truck up to 700 pounds lighter.  This leads to more capability and better handling, which is exactly what you’d want for plowing.  Adding a snow plow prep kit to our lineup helps ensure our customers have even more tools at their disposal to get the job done.”

Whether it’s actually for a business or you just want to help your neighborhood by clearing the streets, the snow plow prep option for the new 2015 Ford F-150 sounds like a great idea.  Do you like the idea but can’t see yourself ever using it?  Not a problem, come on over to Shults Ford of Harmarville and we can help you find the perfect F-150 to fit your needs!

Solar-Powered Ford C-MAX Solar Energi Concept

C-MAX Solar Energi ConceptSunlight is perhaps one of the most widely-available natural resources we have on Earth. It offers immense amounts of energy, but you have to have the right tools to capture it. Engineers at Ford have designed a new C-MAX Solar Energi Concept that uses solar panels to draw energy from the sun.

What makes the C-MAX Solar Energi different from other solar-powered cars is that it uses an innovative concentrator that works like a magnifying glass. This then directs intense solar rays to the solar panels and these get changed into electricity. This process would give the C-MAX Solar Energi the same performance abilities as the standard plug-in hybrid version.

“Ford C-MAX Solar Energi Concept shines a new light on electric transportation and renewable energy,” said Mike Tinskey, Ford global director of vehicle electrification and infrastructure, in a press release. “As an innovation leader, we want to further the public dialog about the art of the possible in moving the world toward a cleaner future.”

While the C-MAX Solar Energi is still in concept form, we hope it makes it to production. Imagine how great it would be to not have to worry about finding someplace to plug-in.

Here at Shults Ford we have the 2013 Ford C-MAX Energi available now.
