2015 Ford F-150 Earns Top Safety Pick from IIHS
The 2015 Ford F-150 is a groundbreaking pickup truck in numerous ways—from its use of segment- and industry-exclusive technologies to its aluminum-alloy body panels. Now, the F-150 breaks new ground yet again, becoming the first pickup in America to earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Top Safety Pick.
The F-150 SuperCrew earned the distinction after performing well in IIHS’ safety tests, adding to its claim of being the safest truck in America. The 2015 F-150—in SuperCrew, SuperCab, and Regular Cab configurations—also earned a five-star overall safety score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), making it the only full-size, light-dusty pickup to do so.
Ford also confirms through statistics from Assured Performance that repair costs on the 2015 F-150 are averaging about $869 less than the average for the 2014 F-150. In about 8 months on the market, there have been 337 repair estimates collected at an average of $1,476, which compares favorably to the $2,345 average across 1,238 estimates in 2014.
The longer it remains on the market, the more it becomes apparent that there is no truck capable of matching the 2015 F-150 in terms of quality, intelligence, performance, and now safety. To see why the new F-150 is the perfect fit for you, test drive one at Shults Ford of Harmarville this weekend.
