Rowan Atkinson Crashes Ford Falcon Sprint at Goodwood Revival

Rowan Atkinson is known for his automotive enthusiasm almost as well as he is for his portrayal of Mr. Bean and other goofy characters. He regularly drives his McLaren F1, occasionally writes for UK car magazines, temporarily topped the Top Gear test track leaderboard, and even convinced Rolls-Royce to lend him a V16 prototype for us on screen in Johnny English Reborn.

Atkinson, however, isn’t perfect. He’s crashed his McLaren F1 multiple times, and has now just gotten himself into yet another unfortunate mess in none other than a classic Ford Falcon Sprint at the Goodwood Revival.

He’d been participating in the Shelby Cup event when two cars ahead of him spun out. Unable to steer clear, Atkinson hit one of the vehicles, damaging the car enough to retire from the race. Fortunately, Atkinson walked away unscathed, but the same can’t be same of the classic Ford.

2015 Ford F-450 Rated Best-in-Class Towing

Ford GT-based GTR1 Cranks Out More Than 1,000 Horsepower

When it launched in 2004, the Ford GT was an exceptional car. By most standards, it remains exceptional to this day, but its age is starting to show when compared to more modern supercars.
